Epic Rides

Mountain biking be it on your local hill or out in the wilderness is all about getting on your bike and riding the trails. Some of my best rides have been deep in the hills, where the nearest road is probably 20 miles away over a combination of single track and fire road. Good examples of Epic Rides available close to Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland are the Cairngorms Loop completed over a two day period or the Glen Avon circuit in a day. A really good ride that I did with Kenny earlier in 2006 was up the Gleann an t-Slugain and back over Cullardoch. Still a good covering of snow in places and some excellent wild camping locations. Recommended....

Plans are in place to try the route at night with a wild bivi - anyone up for it?

Give them a try, dress accordingly and enjoy.
